In 1895, Grythyttan’s founder, Karl Lindqvist, and his friend, the blacksmith and mechanic Theodor Berg, stepped off the train in the small village of Grythyttehed. They carried few possessions, besides a powerful vision to start their own forge, offering first-class craftsmanship and fine steel products.
Lots of children have already inherited their parents’ Grythyttan furniture, steeped in memories. Still used and loved, this furniture can be passed down to the next generation, and the next. And every piece is a testament to the wonder of nature – a reminder of the pine-covered coastline, the ore-rich mountains and the forests which stretch all the way to the horizon. Through our craftsmanship, we carry the torch of history into the future. Over the last 130 years we’ve refined, improved, and further developed the strength, stability and beauty of the Grythyttan Stålmöbler furniture.
The original chair has been slightly updated and is now available in several new versions. Look for Armchair A2 in the Classic series.
